Wordle: mathmathmath

For some fun word art, just go to this web site, type as many words as you can think of on a particular subject and create. You can even copy and paste text from something you have written. The larger words in the wordle are the ones used most often in your text that you typed or copied. Have fun!

Check out these spectacular Internet science projects that we created this year!

Hello from Kansas.

The largest snowman I've ever seen!

The largest snowman I've ever seen!

I woke up on Monday morning to my brother-in-law Mike  (my sister’s husband) and nephew Brett outside in the fresh snow making a snowman that has to be taller than 8 feet!  It was pretty funny watching Mike lifting the snowman’s head into place, just hoping it wouldn’t fall over. We had about six inches of snow from Sunday night through Monday morning.

Yes. The Wichita, Kansas, students didn’t have school on Monday. But since you all are working so hard, we’ll have to plan a special reward day. But we’ll do it after you succeed on Tuesday’s FCAT Writes and then the reading and math FCAT tests in a few weeks! I know you will all do your best Tuesday and keep improving on reading and math through the rest of the week.

As you probably know, My amazing grandfather passed away recently. So I’m out in Kansas helping my grandmother, planning parts of the funeral service, and telling and listening to some great stories about grandpa. He was such an important person in my life and he always made sure I stayed out of trouble as a kid. He used to take me fishing, golfing and boating whenever he could. He was also one of the most patient and giving people, while at the same time keeping myself, my sister, and cousins in line.  For example, when the grandkids would go fishing with him, we might catch so many that he wouldn’t be able to fish himself. Instead, he would constantly help us with the hooks, worms, equipment, and unhooking and releasing the fish for us. But he never complained about not being able to try to catch his own fish. And he would also stop our arguments on the drive home and always make us take our hats off when we had lunch somewhere or returned home.  He taught us to say “yes mam” or “yes sir” to people who we would meet. But more than anything, he wanted us to be happy and enjoy life. Here are a couple of pictures of my grandpa.

I miss you wonderful students, and I’ll be back next week!

Greetings, 4th grade students of Lake Lucina Elementary. The world is changing quickly these days, and your teachers want to prepare you for the future. As you grow older and wiser, more of your lives will require you to navigate computers and the Internet. So, here we will have activities, discussions, videos, games, and even some 21st Century digital work. But trust us, you will enjoy it!
